Savory Swirl Danish

This unique pastry features a creamy filling seasoned with the savory "Around Town" blend, all finished with a subtle glaze made irresistible by the "Sweet Seduction" Dessert Topper.

Ingredients

 

  • For the Rolls:

    • 1 package active dry yeast

    • ½ cup warm milk (about 105°F / 40°C)

    • ¼ cup granulated sugar

    • 1 large egg, lightly beaten

    • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

    • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

    • ½ tsp salt

  • For the Savory Cream Cheese Swirl:

    • 4 oz cream cheese, softened

    • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

    • 1 tbsp Paramour Spice Co. "Around Town" Everything Seasoning

    • 1 tsp dried dill (optional, for color and flavor)

  • For the "Sweet Seduction" Glaze:

    • 1 cup powdered sugar

    • 2 tbsp milk or water

    • 1 tsp Paramour Spice Co. "Sweet Seduction" Dessert Topper

Instructions

  1. Activate Yeast: In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast in the warm milk and sugar. Let stand for 5 minutes until foamy.

  2. Make Dough: Stir in the egg, melted butter, flour, and salt. Mix until a shaggy dough forms. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

  3. Make Swirl Filling: In a small bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth. Mix in the "Around Town" Everything Seasoning and dill.

  4. Assemble Rolls: Punch down the risen dough and roll it into a large rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick. Spread the savory cream cheese filling evenly over the dough. Roll the dough tightly into a log starting from the long side.

  5. Slice and Rise: Slice the log into 10–12 even rolls. Place the rolls in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Cover and let rise again for 30 minutes while the oven preheats.

  6. Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 18–20 minutes, or until golden brown.

  7. Make Glaze: Whisk together the powdered sugar, milk/water, and "Sweet Seduction" Dessert Topper until smooth.

  8. Finish: Drizzle the glaze generously over the warm rolls. Serve immediately.
